Well, my name is Donavan. I will be starting my freshman year of college this fall at Knox College, which is in Galesburg, Illinois. Some of Hobbies include Spoken Word poetry. I also enjoy swimming, and I love Hip-Hop music. I also enjoy theater and hanging out with my friends. I also love talking to people and there is this great program that I have every summer since entering high school called Dinosaur Giants, and its through this great organization called Project Exploration. This program has turned my knowledge of Dinosaurs from non-existent to “Superstar”(as Mikki calls it) in most areas. Some information about this program is that it takes place within the Field Museum. As Dinosaur Giants (DG’s), we work out of the Evolving Plant exhibit. Also, as a team leader I will be working in the exhibit itself. Some of the things we do are we test guest knowledge of Dinosaurs, we show them fossils that are inside the floors of the museum, and we also show them fossils that we have, like Crynoids. Dinosaur Giants is so much fun it gave me more confidence to speak to random people and it brought me closer to people from all over Chicago, and also made me aware to people all over the world.

Wow! You do spoken word poetry! Well I am beyond excited to read one of your blogs posts in poetry form. You ARE a superstar! =D
That’s one of the greatest things about being in the musuem – you will meet people from all over the world! it is a great job to be able to represent not only Chicago, but the whole country to others who come here to visit. I bet you never thought you’d become a teacher to the world, but you have!
You were wise to be part of Dinosaur Giants, because one of the greatest skills you can have in life is the confidence to talk to random people – you never know who you’ll meet that way!
