Jameela explains the importance of lichen to the 2010 All Girls' Expedition team members.

This month, the Association for Women in Science feature Project Exploration’s own Jameela Jafri as their Scientist of the Month. Jameela was nominated by current member of Project Exploration’s Women In Science (WIS) program, Heather King . Jameela was recently awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to travel to Syria to perform a case study of the practices of a female science teacher and its affects on students. As of today, Jameela is on her way to Syria for two years to pursue her conquest for science education. While at Project Exploration she was the Manager for Girls Programs and helped to shape what it means to provide quality gender specific services to girls. Jameela is definitely a trailblazer in the quest of equity in sciences for women, minorities, and all!
