The Field Museum has to be on my favorite museums in the world, so when I was asked to take a group of Science Giants there I jumped in excitement. The day started off by the students reintroducing themselves to everyone and also stating on thing they liked/disliked about an experience they had this summer. Next, we entered the museum and proceeded to head toward Whales, which is the new exhibit at the museum. I learned so much about whales that I never knew before. I never knew that dolphins were whales or even that a diving sperm whales was the largest toothed predator and weighed between 60 and 70 tons (THAT’S HEAVY!!!!). I also found out that one of the females sperm whale skeletons we found had arthritis and was believed to have been attacked by another diving sperm whale for food. After we left the whales exhibit we went to lunch which was great because I got to drink DR. PEPPER
. When then proceeded to enter The Evolving Planet exhibit, which brought back many memories from the Dinosaur Giants program I gave 4 summer of my life too. I was reminiscing the entire time. The Science Giants seemed to be into it the entire time. Pointing to things and asking questions about everything. They got a good experience and gained a lot of knowledge from this trip to the museum. I enjoyed this day to the fullest.
