Hayley and fellow Jr. Biocurator Kamal

Hey All!

The first two days as a junior biocurator were really interesting. I love how my co-workers and I blend so well and we get along great! This is truly a great group.

I am really glad I got introduced to this program, let alone accepted into it. I am interested in going into the field of sonography and radiography, but I did not know that this biocuration internship would introduce me to the different equipment and technology that sonographic technicians use! When I learned about that I was instantly elated. Not only that though, the first two days has really expanded my knowledge on a number of different things that I was in the dark about before. For example, the dinosaurs and fossils and how their bone and skeletal structure works.

Anyways…
I have a good feeling about the next six weeks in this program. I enjoy the company of my fellow biocurators —  Hope, Kamal, Michael, and Kyle — they always seem to make my day. My supervisor, Nicole, is just amazing. She is extremely smart and I enjoy learning from her every day. I also met a great teacher, Nizar Ibrahim. He specializes in the study of dinosaurs, and I thoroughly enjoy learning from him day to day. His lectures are very informative and extremely descriptive, which is great for me, because I need detail in order to learn.
All I can say, is that I am a happy camper :)
