Project Exploration Students interviewed by Free Spirit Media

Free Spirit Media is a Chicago nonprofit that provides education, access, and opportunity in media production to underserved urban youth. Teens in the program develop, write, film, and produce their own news stories. Their next broadcast provides an in-depth look at Project Exploration’s programs, including this year’s Junior Paleontologists, All Girls Expedition, and Fossil Lab Interns.

The broadcast aired on CAN-TV on August 27 and is currenty feaatured on the ABC7 Chicago website.

Forensic Investigators: The Verdict

After all our hard work of being a forensic investigator for a week we had to go to court on Friday and testify about all the evidence we found and process from the crime scene. It was a lot of hard work to process the evidence because there were many different tests that had to be ran in order to figure out who was and who was not involved in the crime. Forensic Investigators

Hey everybody, Justice here to tell you how the new forensic program is doing. Everybody is having a great time and we are all learning so much. We did a very good job at the crime scene from picking up prints, finding blood, to finding DNA samples and capturing evidence. We actually collected too much evidence. We can’t wait until the court hearing and I hope we know who killed who by the end of the day.

Today was in amazing day. All the students was very exited about  going to the crime scene. The students were divide into two groups because their were to cars at the crime scene. Today was an awesome day it marked the birth of the first ever forensic investigator program. There are 32 kids participating in the week long program. All of us are very excited about learning what forensic is and different disciplines within forensic. In to kick off the first day of the program we had two guests come in from the Illinois State Police Department in gave the us the student a crash course about forensic.
