Junior Paleontologists 2010 Trip Highlights

The 2010 Junior Paleontologists at The Mammoth Site On Thursday, August 12th, 14 Chicago Public School students boarded a plane bound for Chicago. A couple of them had tears in their eyes as they looked back at the small airport in Rapid City, South Dakota and remembered the past five days of their expedition. A month ago, these students were strangers hailing from several different schools from around Chicago but today they were a family leaving a new city that quickly became their new home. The Last Two Weeks

Hey everybody! I’ts Justice telling you about our last two weeks as the Junior Paleontologists of 2010. It has been amazing and we are all having fun. We learn a lot from evolution and bone anatomy, to what the world was like millions of years ago. Also, last Friday we went to Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Park. It was great – we all had fun. Fossil Lab Orientation!

I’ve been blogging with Project Exploration for about a year now and today i begin my fossil lab internship. i thought i would take some time today to introduce myself. i am now entering my senior year at Amundsen high school and I’ve been with PE ever since the summer after my freshman year. i began my work with Project Exploration with experience in the field aspect of paleontology and i feel that this summer my experience is coming full circle with work both in and outside of the lab.… Continue reading
