Sisters4Science- Reflections of Knowledge Part 2 – Young Women’s Leadership Charter School
Project Exploration's Sisters4Science ...changing (as well as challenging) young women's minds via science education.
Today was the final Sisters4Science session at Young Women's Leadership Charter School which featured presentations by its "doctor" participants. Each one gave detailed summaries of what they learned over the past few months while attending this after school program. First there was a cheery welcome by Doctor Temia Holmes and a fun interactive name game where each person including SouthSide and her daughter had to say their name and favorite color. That was followed by by an Introduction by Doctor Kennedy Hill stating that Sisters4Science program not only provided them with a hands-on experience but it also served as place where they could be themselves ...to hang out and discuss privately. Sisters4Science Reflection of Knowledge Part 1
They're the future in which possibilities are vast and limitless especially with a little boost from Project Exploration's Sisters4Science program. This after school program brings together middle school age girls (and some returning high school Freshmen) with aspiring minds and eagerness to learn and scientists (of various backgrounds and fields of study) for weekly meetings during a half to full year. On this particular afternoon at Persepectives Charter School - Rodney D. Joslin campus, it was the final Sister4Science session in which "Doctors" (program participants) shared what they've learned during the few weeks to a select audience of invite guests.
