Has Dr. Sereno ever run in a marathon before?
No. This is his first competitive race. Good luck, Paul!

Paleontologist Paul Sereno training for the Chicago Marathon
Members of the 1997 expedition to Niger use brute strength to dig an enormous fossilized bone out of solid rock. In this picture the bone has been wrapped in a plaster jacket and is now being hoisted out of the ground.

These huge fossils were then transported back to the dinosaur lab at the University of Chicago for cleaning and study

If you lined up the new sauropod dinosaur and all it's cousins head to tail along the marathon route, how many sauropods would it take to reach the finish line?
How much would all those sauropod dinosaurs weigh?
