This time-lapse video was created by Nels Peterson. Nels strapped a camera to the top of my Land Rover that took a photo every 10 seconds during our trip from Tahoua to Agadez. He then stitched the photos together and uploaded it as a video to You Tube.

Finely crafted fish hooks possibly from 6-8,000 years ago. The top parts of some where it attached to a line were broken off long ago. ARTIFACT OVERVIEWHundreds of artifacts were found on the site and included approximately 20 bone harpoons (several in situ in ancient lake bed), 3 fish hooks, dozens of arrowheads up to 3 inches, spear points, about ten tiny ceremonial arrowheads found in graves) ten grindstones and grinders, pestles, scrapers, a green tear drop shaped possible ceremonial disk, axes, adzes, cutters, many hammer stones for making tools, several dozen jewelry beads, a hippo tooth pendant, and another pendant made from an antelope knuckle.We also found thousands of pieces of pottery from both the Kiffian (6-9500 years old) and Tenere (4-6000 years old). as well as three partial pots in situ.Many of the arrowheads were made from a volcanic green rock whose source had not previously been identified. We found it about 150km north of the Gobero site along with hundreds of thousands of flakes from thousands of years of tool and arrowhead making.
