Andy was born on November
22nd, 1978 and has lived in
Maine for his whole life until
he came to the University
of Chicago in 1997.When he
was a kid, he spent a lot
of time in the woods, but
he admits he spent way too
much time in front of the
TV. He has an older brother
a younger brother and a younger
sister.
When Paul came back from
his '97 expedition to the
Sahara he gave a talk at the
U of C. Andy tagged along
with a couple of girls who
wanted to hear the lecture.
All of this paleontology stuff
seemed pretty cool to Andy,
so he volunteered in the lab
for a quarter, and most of
his work in the lab has been
on a huge crocodile cranium.
He's a biology major specializing
in Ecology & Evolution who
has postponed graduation until
the fall for this expedition.
After graduating Andy hopes
to move to the Pacific- maybe
Hawaii, Alaska or New Zealand. |
