Project Exploration featured on NBC’s Three Wishes

Air Date: Friday, December 2 at 8:00pm Central Time on NBC.
Channel 5 Chicago

Brett Trenier,8, dreamed of one day being able to go on a dinosaur expedition. Luckily for Brett, his dream was granted by the NBC reality show “Three Wishes,” hosted by Amy Grant.

When NBC looked to grant Brett’s wish to go on a dinosaur expedition, they turned to Project Exploration. Founded in 1999 by University of Chicago paleontologist Dr. Paul Sereno and educator Gabrielle Lyon, Project Exploration works to make science accessible to the public—with a special focus on city kids and girls.

Project Exploration coordinated the Three Wishes expedition near Faith, South Dakota—population 50. In addition to all of the regular field preparations, the Three Wishes team had to deal with the bitter November weather in South Dakota! Despite the cold, the team had a very successful dig, excavating the rib bone of a duck-billed dinosaur.
