Looking Ahead
.
And, after a long field
season, we are also looking forward to seeing
familiar faces of people at home, too.

Three men who
made it happen. With the forarm of Jobaria
at their knees, and the skeleton of Jobaria
towering behind, Boube Gaddo, Paul and Isofou
Kouada pose for a picture at the Jobaria
dedication.
The cargo - next to
travel from Niamey, Niger, to Cotounou,
Benin then by boat to the States - is slated
to arrive at the University of Chicago in
February. Then the next steps - the work
of opening the jackets; cleaning, repairing
and conserving each of the bones; casting
and molding the fossils to make replicas;
studying the new animals and comparing them
to known dinosaurs; and illustrating and
publishing - will begin.
In the upcoming days,
weeks and months, keep an eye on www.projectexploration.org
for a dinosaur summary of the expedition,
news and announcements, lab updates and
to follow the development of these remarkable
discoveries online.
This is Gabrielle Lyon,
team member of the 2000 Expedition to Niger,
logging off from the field. until the next
expedition.
