The Team

Who's on the team? The 2003 Niger Expedition team led by Dr. Paul Sereno is a diverse group of students, paleontologists, educators and passionate hobbyists from the United States, France and Niger...

Ronan Allain
Ronan was born on March 15, 1974, in Paris, France, and grew up in the suburbs of Paris in Meudon with his parents and sister. As a kid, his favorite past-times were playing the guitar, Scrabble, and role-playing games, and also reading, swimming, and archeology.

Didier Dutheil
Didier was born in Paris and grew up on his grandfather and mother’s farm in the center of France. As a child, he enjoyed turning over rocks to discover the life underneath.

Andrew Gray
On the cold morning of November 22, 1978, Andy was born in New Hampshire. The next 18 years of his life, however, were spent “messing around” in southern Maine.

Carol Gudanowski
Carol was born on September 22, 1982, in Arlington Heights, Illinois. As a kid, she was always drawing and watching tons of Nickelodeon.

Mike Hettwer
Mike was born in Chicago, Illinois. As a kid Mike liked to jump bicycles over large numbers of garbage cans.

Gabrielle Lyon
Gabe was born on July 12, 1972 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and grew up in New York and New Jersey. As a child, she liked to collect butterflies, draw, and read.

Luke Mahler
Luke was born on November 13, 1980, and grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and Nashville, Tennesee. For fun, he alternated his time between tormenting his younger siblings and exploring the creeks and forests near his home.
