| Advanced Astronaut Training Camp |

| Experience an out-of-this-world summer camp with simulated space missions, underwater training and other far-out space science activities. Participants will experience what it would be like to train as a real NASA astronaut. Activities will include mental and physical challenges as well as design competitions. In addition, advanced astronauts will learn basic scuba-diving skills that will enable them to participate in a one-day underwater astronaut-training program. Scuba training and gear are included (note: scuba participants must be at least 10 and medically fit to dive). |

| This is a one-week residential program for students who are interested in learning about the fields of aerospace engineering and aviation. Many students have some sort of experience with the aerospace field, through model rockets, remote control airplanes, or a family member who is a pilot--but no experience is necessary; just an interest in learning about the field. The Institute is held on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Students will learn through classroom sessions, laboratories, demonstrations and hands-on activities. |

| This week-long camp offers high-school girls a unique opportunity to explore sophisticated mathematics in an all-girl environment. Campers attend a class in codes three hours every morning, where they learn basic number theory and applications to cryptography. In the afternoon, they attend mini-courses in other mathematical applications, such as Aerodynamics. Students spend a week on campus in the dorms and eat meals in the cafeteria. |

| This program will introduce students to the basic concepts and electronic devices on which computer systems are based. Through lectures, computer simulations and laboratory work, students will learn about binary numbers, Boolean algebra, logic gates and integrated circuits. Using this knowledge, they will design a digital electronic system, build it and test it in the laboratory. Students do not need to have previous knowledge of these topics or laboratory skills, but they must be excited to learn about them. |
